I have done this starter once before – Shakshuka. Served it in a bowl. Found these tea cup sized bowls with no handles so served them in these. Made the Sauce, put in the cup, added the Egg and topped off with Feta. Baked in the oven. Needs to be hotter to bake the white and retain the runny yolk. Went down very well with our Guests.
Really very nice dish this. Hairy Bikers Recipe on BBC Good Food, although I adjusted the recipe a little. I used Smoked Back Bacon but I think Streaky would be better. Need to turn the parcel to ensure even cooking of the Bacon. The stuffing was really good and I served it with Colcannon, Sprouting Brocolli and a Mustard Cream Sauce. Very nice.
Favourite Dessert. Never afraid to go simple because it is often best. Just need to work out how to serve it in a more refined manner.
