Whilst the weather has been very mixed it has probably been the best, in terms of clear and warm weather, that we have had since we moved hear. April and early May always seem to be warm and dry but, ironically seeing as we have not yet received any Guests, it’s been very nice all Summer so far.
We are very much hoping and planning to welcome Guests from 10th August this year. This is obviously dependant upon how the virus spreads out and what decisions are made at Hollyrood but as they are out of my hands I have decided not to worry.
TJ and Daniel finished fitting all of the new Carpet last week so we now have Cormar Natural Berber Twist Elite Grey Squirrel throughout the house. Very nice too. It has been once of those problems that has now gone away. Really very pleased.
The polytunnel is very much stressing me out. Due to my inexperience I seem to have planted many varieties of vegetables which take a long time to mature and crop. This would not normally be an issue but in order that winter crops have sufficient time to grow it has to be emptied completely and re-sown/planted by the end of August. I have lots of plants ready to go but no space. Have to try harder next year.
School has finished and Henry is off to Uni in September. Nothing more to say on that really. It’s like having my heart torn out.
Had lots of insect visitors to the polytunnel and garden which I also take as a good thing. Sorry some of the pictures are out of focus.
Started the big bed too. Not really sure it will be finished.
